Table Of Contents:

Good afternoon,

As you are most likely aware, there was a major house fire on Argyle Road last evening around 8:15.  The house is a total loss and is being secured today.  Although there were two civilian and one firefighter injury, thankfully, everyone is out of the hospital this morning.  At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown and is under the jurisdiction of the fire marshal.

Many of you are calling to ask how you can assist the family. As the situation is very fresh, more information will be forthcoming as the Village is made aware of the family’s needs.

The Village is most thankful to Chief Powell and the brave men and women of the Stewart Manor Fire Department who were called to the scene and prevented further loss of property and further injury.  We are also thankful to nine the neighboring fire departments who provided mutual aide:

At the Scene

Floral Park Fire Department

New Hyde Park Fire Department

Garden City Fire Department

Elmont Fire Department

Garden City Park Fire Department

Mineola Volunteer Ambulance

Bellerose Terrace Fire Department

Standing by at our Headquarters in case needed for another call.

Floral Park Center Fire Department

Franklin Square Fire Department

Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers.  We will share further information as we have it.
